Altafulla is a historical and artistic location on the Costa Dorada, where you can relax and enjoy the beauty of the city with its great city center, the Vila Closa. Most of the houses in the center are from the 12th and 13th centuries. Narrow cobbled streets, a huge Moorish castle and a beautiful church are the main attractions of the old Altafulla.

The Tamarit castle was constructed in the 11th century and has recently been partially renovated. In the castle there is a restaurant and a conference room. The structure still looks like a fortress with several towers and parapets. Around the castle is the old town with its narrow streets, alleys and squares, a perfect place for a stroll.

The Iglesia de Sant Marti stands on the square near the castle. A church built in the 18th century in Baroque style. The floor plan consists of a Latin cross. The façade is very plain and the bell tower is unfinished. Inside is a beautiful altar piece from 1745, while there is also an interesting crypt with ancient burial chambers.

The chapel of San Antonio is located on a hill at the outskirts of the village. This chapel was built in 1717.

The Villa Romana is another attraction in Altafulla. This villa was built in the 1st century and you can still clearly see its floor plan. Artifacts found in this complex are now on display in the Archaeological Museum of Tarragona.

The beach of Altafulla is known for its excellent quality. It is 1 km long and 20 meters wide. The beach has good facilities and plenty of water sports. The most popular sport is sailing, and there is also special sailing club.
