Barbate is a small town in the province of Cádiz in Andalucia. It is situated between Tarifa and Vejer de la Frontera. The place has 23,000 inhabitants.

In these surroundings the battle of Trafalgar was won by Nelson in 1805 when his fleet met an alliance of French and Spanish ships.

Barbate was a fishing village since the days of the Phoenicians and even today much tuna is exported over the world. The last 40 years tourism increased considerably as more and more people were attracted by Barbate’s beaches.

The beaches are great wide golden sand beaches, there are cozy coves protected by cliffs and dunes surrounded by dense pine forests ideal for long walks. There are plenty of opportunities for water sports good restaurants and bars to satisfy your internal wishes.

Despite the many tourists who come to enjoy their holidays here, the area is still unspoiled so you will have a relaxing stay.
