Caleta de Fuste

Caleta de Fuste is a place on the island of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands region. Caleta de Fuste evolved in the 80ís of the 20th century. The site has therefore not so much history. There is a small castle from 1743 built to defend the bay against pirates. The castle is now part of the Barcelo Club complex.

The horseshoe-shaped beach of Caleta de Fuste is ideal for families with its relaxed atmosphere and gradually sloping beach. The sand is imported and therefore feels a little harder than natural sand. Apart from beach activities you can also go sailing, scuba diving, surfing and jet skiing. The ocean in the area is famous for its dolphins and turtles, great for a boat trip out to sea. In the harbor you can book a trip on the Oceaniarium Explorer, a yellow submarine with an underwater viewing dome.

Shoppers can visit the Atlantico center with a supermarket, a cinema, an arcade, bowling, various restaurants and fashion stores.

For quad excursions, there is the East Coast Rides Quad. For a trip on a coastal route or a hot volcanic experience you can book a one hour to five hours trip. There is an office in Caleta de Fuste.

Between the rocks on the coast at Caleta de Fuste live enormous numbers of squirrels. They are quite tame and you can easily feed them with nuts. A fun experience if you take a walk along the coast.

The island also offers plenty for the enterprising visitor. Explore the island on foot, by bike, on horseback, or rent a car or join a jeep safari. The safaris are guided and will take you to interesting places like the Malpais, the lagoons, the rugged west coast of the island, or Betancuria Park.
