Dénia is a city on the Costa Blanca between Alicante and Valencia. From Dénia there is daily ferry to Ibiza and the other Balearic Islands. For an interesting railway trip, you can take the Limón Express to Alicante passing great scenery on the way.

From the castle on top of the rock, you have a wonderful view over the city, the sea and the backlands. The castle origins from the 11th and 12th century and within the compound there is the Palau del Governador with its museum.

To reach the castle you can take a tourist train that leaves at the Tourist Office. Another interesting museum in Dénia is the Museo Etnologico that provides a rich history of the town and its culture.

Mount Montgó is the last spur on the Cordillera Prebética Mouintain Range. The mountain rises dramatically up to 753 meters from the valley floor and dominates the skyline for miles around. Its craggy cliffs are home to some of the most unusual flora and fauna in Spain.

The mountain is renowned for its rock formations, cliffs, caves and natural harbours. It is possible to climb to the top of Montgó from all sides. At the summit of Montgó one will find the remains of the Casa de Biot, an Iberian settlement of the 8th century B.C. From the summit, you have great views of the coast and the sea and on a clear day, Ibiza can be seen.

Dénia has beautiful beaches; actually we talk about a good 20 kilometers of coastline with rocky coves and big extensions of sand, solitary beaches and beaches with both sports and playful activities.

Many great restaurants face the port and offer local rice dishes. Try a Fideua that is noodle-based paella. While enjoying your dish you can check the bustling port activities.
