Lleida is a city in the province of Lleida in the Spanish autonomous region of Catalunya.

The cathedral La Seu Vella was built between 1203 and 1286 in Romanesque style, but the church also has Gothic features. The cathedral is the architectural monument of Lleida and is one of the seven wonders of Catalunya. The floor plan is a Latin cross with nave and two aisles. The interior is decorated with murals and sculptures. The Seu Vella was as a military fort in the 18th century and stands on the hill Turo de la Seu.

The gardens Camps Elises were already in use in Roman times. There are a number of sculptures and several notable buildings, including the Café Chalet de la Música from the 19th century. Then there is the Aquarium, a modernist building with glazed tiles and decorated beams. In the gardens, there is the fountain of the siren surrounded by a garden full of flowers.

The Museu de Lleida is an art and history museum. There are a number of different collections including Roman, Moorish, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque art. Among the works are archaeological pieces from the Bronze Age. Romanesque altar pieces and stone sculptures from Seu Vella. Sculptures from the 14th century, the so-called School of Lleida, Flemish tapestries and clothes of Pope Calixtus III.

La Mitjana is ideal for walks while enjoying its great flora and fauna. The area is a wetland along a riverside with some woodland and a great place for having a break from the buzzing lfe of the city.

Lleida is a great place to stay and use as a base for exploring the whole province. The town is quiet and of a comfortable size and thus easy to walk around and find all its attractions.
