Tazacorte is a town on the west coast of the Canary island of La Palma.

Tazacorte consists of two parts. Tazacorte village which lies against the mountainside and Puerto Tazacorte the port.

In Tazacorte village you will find shops, supermarkets, the town hall and post office. In Puerto Tazazcorte lies the black beach, the fishing harbor and a promenade with caés, bars and restaurants.

In the chapel of San Miguel are the remains of the Jesuits preserved who were killed in 1570 by French pirates.

The Jesuits were on their way from Portugal to Brazil and anchored in Tazacorte. After leaving the port of Tazacorte for Brazil, they were attacked and tortured.

Tazacorte is known as the banana region of La Palma. In the historic center of Tazacorte you will find the Museo del Platano (Banana Museum) with the adjacent Gravy and Coffee Liquor Museum, both surrounded by a large number of banana plants.

In the Banana Museum you'll find everything about the history of Tazacorte and of course of the cultivation of bananas.

A popular viewpoint is the Mirador El Time at 501 meters above sea level. You can reach this height through a zigzag path. Upstairs is a cafe for those who want a snack after the climb.

From the port of Tazacorte there are daily trips to Cueva Bonita to watch dolphins in their natural environment.
